Description
Designed by the Brisket Master. Built to Perform.
The Franklin Barbecue Pit is not just another offset smoker; it is the culmination of decades of commercial brisket-smoking experience. Aaron Franklin spent years adjusting, testing, and tweaking the mathematics of airflow to create a backyard pit that handles exactly like a full-scale commercial smokehouse.
Hand-welded in Austin, Texas using dense 0.25-inch thick plate steel, this pit boasts massive thermal mass. The thick-gauge construction acts as an incredible natural barrier against wind, cold, and weather fluctuations. Once your wood coal bed is established, the Franklin Pit breathes effortlessly, drawing in fresh air and rolling clean blue smoke over your meats to yield the most pristine bark and deep, rich smoke rings imaginable.
Engineered Performance Features
-
Precision Convective Drafting: Unlike standard offsets that suffocate fires or trap harsh smoke, this pit features a mathematically optimized throat and a massive, custom-angled exhaust stack. The resulting draft velocity continuously pulls air cleanly across the grates, preventing creosote from landing on your food.
-
Radius-Curved Heat Firebox: Built with a rounded, contoured shape that eliminates sharp corners where heat pools. This structural design promotes a perfectly efficient wood burn and sends an unhindered wave of hot air and sweet smoke directly into the main barrel.
-
Heavy-Duty Cooking Grid: Equipped with a thick, food-grade steel expanded metal cooking rack. The grid layout is purposely elevated to sit directly in the sweet spot of the convective airflow path.
-
Ergonomic Counterweighted Lid: The massive steel lid is balanced with a integrated heavy-duty counterweight and a cool-touch spring handle, allowing you to check your bark smoothly and safely.
-
Heavy-Duty Wagon Chassis: Mounted onto a ultra-sturdy, laser-cut steel base frame equipped with large, rugged wheels and a durable steering handle for steady backyard positioning.
-
Seamless Grease Control: The main smoking chamber features a sloped interior floor that naturally catches rendered fats and sweeps them down into an external grease collection system for clean operation.
